Shape Poetry

Shape Poetry, often called "Concrete" poetry, is poetry that describes an object AND takes the shape of the object the poem is about.
What is a Shape Poem?

How to Create a Shape Poem?
    1. Decide on a topic.
    2. Lightly draw an outline of the shape.
    3. Fill in the words you'd like for your poem.

OR
    1. Use Microsoft Word. Type up all the words you'd like to use. Type more often the words you'd like to show up larger.
    2. Open this link to Taxedo.
    3. Click on "load".
    4. Copy the words from the Microsoft Word into the square for the words.
    5. Click on "Submit".

    Be sure to change all the font, colors, shapes before you print. You may print ONLY 1 copy!

Cinquain

A Cinquain (pronounced "sin-cane" not "sin-qwane") is more challenging form of poetry.  It is similar to a haiku in that there are rules to follow.  Look through the links below to help you learn. Some links provide examples. Others provide graphic organizer to help you create your own.

Diamante

A Diamante (dee-ah-mahn-tay) poem is a form that is more challenging.  It uses it's form to emphasize differences. It is a seven line poem with specific rules to follow. Read below to learn more!
